We at hunterandsmith, a design firm, had an idea to put on a fashion show that would raise money for a local organization.  The purpose of the 1^st Annual GLAM Fashion Show is to do something positive for the City of Detroit. 

The stipulations we put on the organization were:

1.      The organization had to be based in and benefitting the City of Detroit.

2.      The organization would not quite as well known as others.

We chose these stipulations because we wanted the funds to go toward a Detroit organization and know that the funds would be used toward the betterment of the City.  The decision was made to pick an organization that was not as well know because we want to shed light on and show how much good the organization is doing for the City of Detroit.  An organization that did not have as big of a budget as some of the other local organizations was also key. 

We initially set out to do a fashion show only for ourselves, but we both think that it is better to also give, not just to receive.
